Best Care Pet Hospital is the first veterinary hospital in the tri-state region to become AAHA Accredited by demonstrating the highest standards possible in veterinary medicine and undergoing a rigorous inspection process. We are one of only three such veterinary hospitals that are AAHA Accredited in South Dakota, and the only hospital with full-time veterinary specialists.
At Best Care Pet Hospital we believe in high-quality and specialty veterinary medicine and believe achieving AAHA Accreditation was the best way to show that we are dedicated and devoted to providing the best care possible to our patients and clients.
Achieving AAHA Accreditation is not an easy task and requires over 900 standards to be evaluated, which is why most hospitals are not accredited. It requires an abundance of time and dedication everyday from the entire veterinary team to achieve and maintain. All members at Best Care Pet Hospital are dedicated to this achievement in efforts to provide the best possible experience for you and your pet.
Human hospitals are evaluated to meet set standards, and we believe veterinary medicine should be held to the same standard. AAHA Accreditation ensures that standards are met involving patient care and pain management, surgery, pharmacy, laboratory, exam facilities, medical records, cleanliness, emergency services, dental care, diagnostic imaging, anesthesiology, and continuing education.
AAHA Accreditation requires all staff members, not just the veterinarians, to maintain current continuing education standards. This ensures that we stay on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine to provide you and your pet the highest level of care and knowledge possible.
It was vitally important to us to have a measurable standard to achieve so that our quality of care could be judged by an independent certifying body. It’s easy to claim that you are doing what’s right but it’s not so easy to prove that. Through AAHA certification we did just that.
